Baby Crab Research
A first-hand look at the risks of working on an ocean-going vessel as we follow scientists studying Dungeness Crab larvae. There’s nothing boring about this research project, high seas are a constant challenge for the tiny ship and crew. Dungeness Crab are an important part of Oregon's coastal economy, yet very little is known about their life cycle. With extensive data collection the crew of the McArthur hopes to shed light on the mystery.

Crater Lake Mapping
Using advanced mapping technology, scientists are able to study the varied contours of the bottom of Crater Lake. Until now, the depths of the lake, which was formed by a massive volcanic explosion, were a mystery. Now computer technology can process acoustic signals bounced off the bottom.
