- Each year the greatest musicians in the world come through town to perform with Chamber Music Northwest. Some of the musicians stay a little longer to pass on their knowledge to the next generation. We’ll follow Andy Liang, a young Portland violinist, as he learns from the greats.

- Nyssa artist Eva Castellanoz received an NEA National Heritage Fellowship for her work preserving Mexican traditional arts. She uses wire, paper and wax to make beautiful flowers by hand. She's descended from Brazeros, the workers who migrated north to work in the factories and fields during World War II. Eva embraced her parents' lessons on heritage and her knowledge of plants and herbal rememdies is encyclopedic.

- Michael DeForest is a furniture maker and artist who teaches at the Oregon College of Art and Craft and at Catlin Gabel School. He's evolved from creating balanced, high-end furniture to a much quirkier style. The pieces he prefers now have uneven outlines and they're painted and carved with symbolic figures.
