Photographer Christopher Burkett

Christopher Burkett was reared in the Pacific Northwest. He became a monk, and began photography as a way to capture light, as an expression of his faith. After leaving the order, he continued his career as a photographer. He's known for nature photos of incredible detail, captured with a large 8-by-10 camera.

Music Group Pink Martini

The Portland-based ‘little orchestra’ Pink Martini was founded in 1994 by Thomas Lauderdale, a Harvard graduate and classically trained pianist. In the years following Pink Martini grew from four musicians to its current 12, and has gone on to perform its multilingual repertoire on concert stages and with symphony orchestras throughout the world.
