Koto Musician Mitsuki Dazai

Mitsuki Dazai is an expert at playing the koto. She plays traditional Japanese music as well as bluegrass and other unexpected tunes. She teaches, performs, and is donating a koto to the University of Oregon for a display of musical instruments from around the world.

Painter Felicia Capuia

College student Felicia Capuia works with acrylic paints, using photos from Zambia, where she was born in a refugee camp. She doesn't remember Africa, so her paintings of family members and African scenes are a way to meditate on her background. The images are bright and look like murals.
